About Me, Stephanie Lee

THANK YOU FOR VISITING MY BLOG!!

I'm originally from a little town in Idaho.  You may joke and say, "They're all little towns in Idaho!" that's if you even know where Idaho is.  Haha!!  The little town is called Howe, Idaho and on the sign when you drive in (the road you drive in isn't a dirt road, but most of the other ones are) says Population 23.  There were actually more people like that.  I mean, heck, we had almost 60 kids in the school I attended which was grades K-6.  After that, you had to take a bus a half an hour away to go to junior high.  It was fun out there.  I lived on a dairy farm, did Horse 4-H and was even in a couple rodeos.  My grandparents lived there and some cousins and it was a good place to be... if you didn't like people.  Haha!!!  just kidding....

This is a picture of Howe Valley.  It's beautiful!  Great place to hunt, and grow up. ;)

Anyway, we moved to the "big city" of Idaho Falls.  Through Junior High and HS, I cheered and played in our Family Band called, "Dusty Boots."  Dusty Boots was made up of me, two of my sisters (Sunny and Kelly), Becky Clapp (our amazing drummer), and my dad.  So, we were almost an all-girl band!  We all played several instruments and put on a show!  We had SO much fun!  Some of the best days of my life.  We played all the time, and all over.  My dad used to say, "A family that "plays" together, stays together."  He thought he was pretty clever.  haha!!  Dusty Boots played in the Fair Circuit and traveled around the northern US doing fair shows.  We made a CD and sold over 40,000 CDs.

So, I have been singing and performing since I was 6 years old with bands such as: The Wild Rose Band, Dusty Boots, AppleKor, and most recently doing all my original music, as Stephanie Lee.  I play 6 instruments and write my own music.  Songs just come to me!!  Mostly in the middle of the night... when I'm not sleeping.... and boy do I have a sleep problem... but maybe it's a good thing.

In college, I played in a band and minored in music at which time I studied with opera singer, Dr. David Peck.

Other things I do.... I am a gymnast and it was a huge part of my life.  I also ran track and cross country and even tried out for the basketball team, but didn't make it. Haha!!!  I guess they didn't know what they were missing.... or maybe they did! ;) I still run, lift weights, yoga... love to work out.

I have performed all over the world and loved every minute of it. I created and worked with performing singing groups in Utah (Thanksgiving Point) and Idaho, Performance Academy. I love directing choirs! I have directed several ward choirs, Stake Choirs, worked with several youth choirs and had the privilege of being part of a temple choir.

Now I'm lucky enough to be in TEXAS!  I love Texas.  Don't get me wrong, I love Idaho, too.  They're actually so similar in core values... and such good people in both places!  Anyway, it's me... fits my music, my heart, my personality and my beliefs.  I love that people still PRAY here!  I love that family is so big, barbecues, football... this is a great place to be.
